April 2010:
The Campus Tv Project At The University
Games of  Soa  (17th -24th April 2010)

Meeting of all participants of the Campus TV
project on Saturday 17th April for the official
launching of the 13th edition of the university
games.

On Saturday 18th April, the studio had not yet
been set up so we were sent to the field to
collect information on the various sports
events for data and also to carry out
marketing.

Monday 19th April, badges as well as
accommodation was provided, a
broadcasting studio was  also made
available. We were given the task to carryout
interviews, make reports and documentaries
for a news review to be presented to the
minister of communication on the day of the
official launching of the TV station. Each
member was given a specific domain to
tackle and a supervisor was provided to
guide us through out the task.. We did this for
two days (19th-and 20th April).

Campus TV was officially launched on
Wednesday 21st April 2010 by the minister of
communications Issa Chiroma  at a
ceremony presided over by the rector of the
University of Yaoundé 2 Soa Pr. Jean Tabi
Manga and some partners like the president
of the Coeur d’Afrique foundation Roger Milla,
the director general of CAMTEL amongst
others. All these dignitaries promised  to  fully
support  the project. Gifts like computers, TV
sets, printers and cell phones were granted
to campus TV to enhance productivity. The
first official images of campus TV were
presented to the general public.

As from Thursday 22nd April, instructions
were given that we conceive as many
programs and shows as possible for a set of
DVD’s to be handed to the rector at the end of
the games, these DVD’s will be shown at the
up coming francophonie games hosted by
the University of Yaoundé 2 Soa. The next
couple of days were spent filming and
reporting all the different activities taking
place in the vicinity of the games. Given the
lack of adequate materials the task at hand
was quite tedious but we did everything in our
capacity to achieve our goal. Each member
came up with at least one full extract in a
particular domain.

Saturday April 24th was the last day of the
games; we covered the closing ceremony of
the games and the handing of medals to
athletes.

- Yaoundé has about 20 songs against
HIV and Corruption; 10 of them are
ready to go on air

Current needs:
- we need more committed members
and permanent staff
- we need the means to make a video
clip of our most promising song "Point
of correction" in order to put it on CRTV
- we need finance and partnerships
Excited and very talented members...
