Congratulations to the Mey-Low-D Exco, Campus Celebrity Team and the Spectacular Exco of MLD club,
GBHS (Hans, Innes, Virginie and Christabel), for
a great show.

Venue: Alliance Franco Camerounaise (based on a partnership agreement).

Bamenda Trade Fair
On November 1st, Mey-Low-d members  took a collective self sponsored trip to the BAMENDA TRADE
FAIR.Results: Members became more aware of the country's or town's commercial cultures and
economic situation and saw the trade fair in a more intuitive perspective.
About 100 people were reached out by MLD members on HIV prevention using remaining brochures
from the ACMS Artventure and PD2 campaign as authorised by the ACMS regional coordinator, Mr.
Tanteh Vitalis.
More color and vigour was retrieved among members with better interaction and a stronger sense of
belonging, getting them ready for the kind of team spirit needed to accomplish the Campus Celebrity
Project, School Outreach project and Artventure project that lays ahead.

CULTURAL EXCHANGE
4 youths on cultural exchange from Germany have registered in Mey-Low-D Foundation: Lina, Neela,
Carol and Sarah. They are assuming several volunteer tasks:

They also did a Special Cultural Expose on Youth Culture in Germany: We discussed party life,
parent-child dialogue, youth leadership, reproductive health, sexual orientation, youth empowerment
policy etc in Germany and Cameroon. The 4 new members from Germany were very happy to share their
lifestyles with their new Cameroonian friends.

Pinch it Unroll
In September Mey-Low-D Foundation completed their part of the "Pinch it Unroll - Women" project
partnership.
After an intense training on the issues of sex, communication, gender, prejudice and reproductive
health, the work was carried out with a lot of enthusiasm, cooperation and dedication.

The purpose of this outreach campaign was to sensitize 2,000 women through educative talks on the
proper use of the male condom, bearing in mind the creation of awareness on the following surrounding
issues:

Ø      The basics of HIV and its prevention
Ø      Parent-child dialogue
Ø      Ownership of their sexual lives by girls and young women

By the end of this project, Mey-low-d community educators had toured the entire expanse of the
Nkwen area of Bamenda, sensitizing 2,717 people, amongst whom were 1,966 women. Our
congratulations and regards to all who worked on this project. Special thanks to ACMS for championing
this program.

CAMPUS CELEBRITY
Serious preparations are going on in Mey-Low-D corridors and various school campuses for CAMPUS
CELEBRITY 2009. However, the official plan is not yet out as the Campus Celebrity core team made of
Jaamiiz, Philippe, Blandine and Kefen are still mobilizing resources for a great take off. According to
Jaamiiz, Mey-Low-D National Coordinator, " In 2007, we were only testing a good idea. This 2009 we
shall make it a phenomenon for years and years to come." .

Singers, Dancers, Models, Audio-visual artists and production project managers in Mey-Low-D are
contributing little sums of money to make one big music video against corruption. "We plan to make this
the talk of the town, and why not the Nation." , says Moukeka, Philippe Florien, Mey-low-d's Public
Relations Officer."

ARTVENTURE PROJECT
Artventure is a concept by ACMS that brings Singers, Painters, Models and actors below 24 to produce
and compete with artistic works against HIV under the theme "No to Sugar Daddy, No to HIV". It also
involves getting each member of the ACMS network of Reglo Clubs like Mey-low-D to organise a
competitive concert that would bring many spectators together as a means of sensitisation alongside
competition.
Afrigirl have been selected to represent the North West Province for the National finals of
ARTVENTURE in Yaounde. First, they shall have a presentation alongside the winners in other
categories like drama and painting at the Franco Alliance Hall on Wednesday the 5th of
November.

School outreach
We have 3 School clubs now authorised by the school administrations, namely: GBHS, Atiela and
Hosanna
.  On the 29th of October MLD GBHS was the centre of attention where they had a brilliant
performance at the launching of clubs. This included an official announcement of their existence in the
assembly, matching and submission of artists, models and dancers for the general school socials. So far,
they have held 4 consecutive meetings and now boast of
above 60 members.
Kudos to their steering committee made up of Hans (President) Viriginie(Vice President) Innes: Miss
Campus Celebrity (PRO) and Chistabel ( Secretary General)
Yesterday, the National Coordinator (Jaam)
On the 29th of October PRO (Phil) and the Logistics Coord ( Ernest) paid a surprise visit during which
we had a chat with the steering committee, greered the general assembly, took photos (still to be
downloaded for the website) and video interviews as vox pop for the first edition of Campus Celebrity.
The Biggest News:  Mr Mundap, the Vice Principal of GBHS accepted to be the Club Master!!!
These clubs shall be very important, serving as our specific networks within the communities alongside
other youth networks to which Mey-low-d belongs. They shall also be the substance of Campus Celebrity
2009, while serving as a catchment point for marketing our activities and facilities among youths and
the entire community for sustainable development
