THE MEY-LOW-D FOUNDATION FOR YOUTH "EDUTAINMENT"
registered charity association N° 001326/ADR/J06/APPA.-
Objectives:
Create an enabling environment for the promotion of a holistic
appraisal and a global partnership for the fight against
CORRUPTION, HIV/AIDS and related socially menacing hazards:
through the use of musical and artistic cultural exchange
programs.
Mey-Low-D Foundation for Youth Edutainment is a registered charity association with headquarters based in
Bamenda and two other branches in Cameroon - Buea and Yaounde. It was created in August 2005 by a group of
friends who used to sing in an
A Capella group called "Mey-Low-D" which was quite successful in Cameroon in the
90s. Music was the factor which brought them together and they used it not only to entertain but at the same
time to pass educative messages to their listeners
(check out pictures and information on Mey-Low-D A Capella
group here!)

On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of Mey-Low-D A Cappella, its members and friends of the group
decided to take a challenge and build a lifetime vision by creating a
Foundation for Youth Edutainment (=
Education through Entertainment)
to address issues which are affecting the Cameroonian Youths such as
HIV/AIDS and corruption.

The Mey-Low-D mission is to plant
new perspectives for the Cameroonian Youth, create a new way of life,
encourage the Cameroonian youth to take up the challenge to enhance the productivity of the Nation by
developing and enabling them to
exploiting their talents and to contribute to the welfare of the society by
campaigning and fighting against corruption, HIV/AIDS and other ills of the Cameroonian society.

The
vision of Mey-Low-D Foundation is to create a nationwide youth movement, a new generation of
Cameroonians who are strong, positive and critical thinkers for Cameroon. Mey-Low-D Foundation wants to
encourage young people not only to learn and talk about HIV/AIDS, corruption and other societal ills, but also
to make the choice to
support positive living, behaviour change linked to achieving their life goals and dreams.
This combines entertainment and education to attract attention and provides a forum for delivering behaviour
change messages. Through
HIV/AIDS and corruption edutainment programs at schools, clubs, in the media on a
local, National and regional level young people can share ideas, have a common, focused strategy both formal and
informal to redress these societal ills affecting Cameroon.

At the same time Mey-Low-D Foundation wants to give
young artists the opportunity to express their talents
and make good use of them for the future of their country.
