| MEY- LOW- D CAMEROON, 5 – YEAR strategic summary (2006-2010) Overall Goal: To improve the quality of life of Cameroonian Youths by educating and empowering them to face current and future challenges using edutainment approaches. Vision: Mey-Low-D foundation aims at achieving an outstanding national impact in the attitudes and lives of Cameroonian youths as the leading national foundation by 2010. Strategies: Artistic production Media Talent Development Trainings Membership Partnerships Fundraising Charity Aims: To sensitise Cameroonian youths on the need for good leadership and empower them with leadership skills. To create among them, a culture of responsible youth using educative entertainment on a broad-based mass media approach. Help youths use innovative approaches to fight against HIV AIDS and Poverty, which stand in their way of surviving in society today and investing for a brighter future. Objectives: Media Sensitisation To carry on an exhaustive nationwide media sensitisation program that would reach out to at least 80% of Cameroonian Youths using the TV, Radio, Press and the Internet. Training Train at least 1000 youths in all 10 provinces of Cameroon on a comprehensive package on youth, leadership and development in the African context and create 20 Mey-Low D clubs, which would scale up the trainings to other areas to get a multiplier effect. Organise 1 annual festival/workshops each in 2008 and 2009 and 2010 on leadership and talent development Partnership Partner with major 5 organisations fighting against AIDS and Corruption in developing TV/Radio Commercials, Music tracks and video clips, Communicative postal, TV/Radio programs and print media periodicals for public health, human rights, good governance and other youth related behaviour change communication. Infrastructure Establish 3 MLD Youth Development centres in Yaounde, Buea and Bamenda, which shall each, consist of a library, recording room, Conference room, talent storeroom, main offices, a counselling room, a media/research room. Productions Produce 1 music/music video CD, 12 TV/Radio Public address spots (6 on AIDS and 6 on corruption, I each per semester as relevant to public need), 1 comprehensive leadership manual i.e. Book, audio and video. Produce 1 comprehensive documentary on MLD activities. Income Generation (sustainability) Empower the branches with infrastructure and equipments to enable them raise funds to sustain the cost of their non-externally funded activities. Develop the MLD website to better publicise its products and accommodate above 1000 subscribers. Also optimise its usability for fundraising. |
